Pòta! was born from the desire to create a new lighting element capable of generating different forms. Enzo Catellani began with the function of the structure, using metal not only as a support, but also as an element capable of conducting energy and defining the lamp's design. The thin brass rods extend through the space, forming an open, three-dimensional geometry. The overall volume is significant, but the absence of closed surfaces allows light and the gaze to freely traverse the composition.

A voluminous yet lightweight structure

Pòta! interprets volume without resorting to lampshades, closed diffusers, or opaque surfaces. Its form arises exclusively from the succession of metal lines and the light points that accompany them. Seen from afar, the lamp appears as a spacious and dramatic presence. As you approach, the structure reveals its lightness: the thin rods delimit the space without completely occupying it and generate different perspectives depending on the vantage point. The structure is made of brass, enriched with black details. The metal is left to take center stage and gives the lamp a warm hue, capable of interacting with the light emitted by the LED modules.

LED Modules Distributed Throughout the Structure

The light does not come from a single central source, but from a series of small LED modules positioned along the structure. In the 50 cm diameter version, the lamp integrates 18 0.7 W LED modules. The 85 cm configuration uses 36 0.7 W modules, distributing the light over a larger surface. The multiplicity of sources reduces the concentration of light in a single point and creates a diffuse and vibrant presence. Each module contributes to the overall perception of the lamp, making the rhythm of the structure visible even when Pòta! is turned on. The standard version with a ceiling rose uses a 24V LED driver and is dimmable via a TRIAC phase cut. Dimming allows you to adapt the lamp to different situations: a higher output illuminates the table and the surrounding area, while a lower setting enhances the brass structure and transforms the LED modules into small points of light.
