A project born from a relationship of trust built over time, where the interpretation of habits, needs, and lifestyles has given rise to a welcoming and vibrant space, inspired by the Gulf of Naples.
Ph.: Myriam De Rosa
Interior design and furnishings: Ciat Design
Location: Naples, Parco Grifeo
The project was born from a dream: bringing the blue that surrounds the outside into the interior. The colors of the sky and the sea fill the spaces of the home, transforming them into an extension of the landscape.
The project, affectionately named Nel blu dipinto di blu, emerged as a confirmation of the clients’ deep trust; as we interpreted their desires, family needs, and lifestyle habits. The goal was to create a space designed to welcome and to return to, an enveloping setting to host an activity as natural as it is fulfilling: simply being.
The project revolves around a continuous backbone, created in partnership with Olivieri. A bespoke system consisting of an ocean-blue ribbed wall that blurs the perception of doors and transforms the hallway into a sculptural horizon, a metaphor for the vibrant exterior surfaces. The spaces flow one after another along the framework that shapes and defines the rooms.
The home is an open space, where the rooms are defined by the ribbed wall, featuring full-height doors fully integrated into the surface that provide access to the kitchen—separate yet fully connected to the living area—and to the home’s private zone, the sleeping area.
The choice of blue is not merely decorative but structural: it serves as a perceptual threshold that guides the flow of the space. The ribbed surfaces alternate depth and flatness, creating a subtle yet consistent rhythm. The continuity of color across the various vertical surfaces was achieved using paints formulated according to the NCS (Natural Color System) code of the custom lacquer system by Olivieri. The palette chosen for the rooms, furnishings, and accessories draws inspiration from Mediterranean colors and the surrounding environment, expressed in soft, comforting tones.

In contrast to the austerity of the walls, we selected furnishings characterized by soft, rounded lines, serving as a metaphor for the sense of warmth and hospitality that defines the family. Among the selected furnishings are the soft Extra Norman corner sofa by Flexteam, which defines the relaxation area; the Pinecone pendant lamps and the Tropico table lamp by FontanaArte; the sinuous Dudet dining chairs by Cassina; and, from the same brand, the Mex coffee table.
The fabrics and upholstery are characterized by lightness and texture, such as the fine linen of the curtains or the silk wallpaper chosen to cover the dining area wall. Completing the warm and enveloping atmosphere are the exquisite Amini rugs in neutral colors, which delineate the different areas of the living space.
The works of art chosen for the project are by Antonio Minervini e di Roland Tapì.

A residential street nestled within a secluded urban setting that maintains a strong connection to the landscape, offering great scenic and architectural value. The property overlooks the Gulf of Naples on one side and the wall of Castello Aselmayer on the other, striking a balance between privacy and openness toward the city and the sea.
