The design brings together wood, woven detailing, and soft textile surfaces, resulting in an armchair with a contemporary character that offers an original reinterpretation of a traditionally rooted material.

Colony stands out for its sinuous frame, which wraps around the seat and defines its profile in one continuous line. The Vienna straw lends a visual lightness to the backrest, creating a sophisticated interplay of solid and open space that gives the armchair an airy, distinctive look. Skrivo’s design employs traditional materials and craftsmanship through a modern lens, resulting in a piece that balances natural appeal, rigorous design, and a measured decorative presence.
Its generous proportions and enveloping structure are designed to offer a relaxed, welcoming seating experience. A seat height of 38 cm enhances the armchair’s lounge-like quality, making it ideal for spaces dedicated to conversation and relaxation. Furthermore, the lightness of the Vienna straw creates an engaging contrast with the softness of the textile upholstery, contributing to the overall harmony of the design.
The frame is available in natural or black-stained beech, or in Canaletto walnut. The Vienna straw can be selected in either a natural or black finish—the latter paired with a black-stained beech frame. The legs are crafted from black aluminum, while the upholstery can be customized with a wide range of fabrics and wools from the Miniforms collection.
The interplay between wood, woven elements, and fabric makes Colony well-suited for living rooms, bedrooms, reading nooks, and contract environments designed for hospitality and conversation. Its lightweight silhouette allows it to be used even in arrangements featuring multiple seats without visually weighing down the space, while the variety of available finishes makes it adaptable to a natural, sophisticated, or more contemporary aesthetic.
