Baxter was founded in 1990 in Brianza, in the heart of the production area that best represents the quality of Made in Italy furniture. The company has made the processing of materials and the search for uniqueness its manifesto to create a range of high quality furniture with refined aesthetics.
Baxter is particularly known for its use of leather, treated to make it soft and durable. The basic idea is to transform classic English style with Italian craftsmanship and manufacturing skills. Similarly, materials such as wood, stone and resin are transformed in personal and unexpected ways, in a continuous process of research and exploration of beauty.
Baxter armchairs and sofas, bold shapes with a haute couture spirit
Baxter sofas and armchairs share a common thread: creating enveloping comfort and an idea of relaxation to indulge in, thanks to generous volumes and upholstery that enhances tactile sensations.
Among Baxter's most iconic designs are those created by Paola Navone, who creates refined and enveloping lines for Baxter. The Milano sofa, the Housse sofa and the Ortigia daybed are all examples of the marriage of refined aesthetics and the mastery of leatherwork. Paola Navone has also designed one of Baxter's icons, the Chestermood sofa, which reinterprets the classic Chesterfield sofa with an exclusive finish that extends the capitonné over the entire surface of the sofa, showing extreme care for each button of the quilted pattern.
Closer to a retro aesthetic are the Baxter pieces designed by Draga & Aurel, such as the Barret armchair, with a low seat and upholstered in crinkled leather, inspired to a 1970s look, the Greta armchair, with a rigid frame edged in metal, and the Marilyn armchair, with sinuous lines and vintage inspiration.
