Design
Teresa is the result of Ferruccio Laviani's research into the expressive potential of plastic materials and industrial techniques capable of generating complex curved forms. The diffuser features an organic, slightly flattened profile, constructed through a succession of sinuous vertical surfaces. These elements open up around the light source like petals, defining a soft, recognizable silhouette from any perspective. The regular progression of the parts creates rhythm and depth, while the gaps between the elements allow light to pass through the volume and reveal its structure. The result is a decorative pendant lamp, yet based on a precise and balanced geometric composition.
Kartell Identity
The Frozen finish gives the PMMA a translucent, slightly satiny, and visually soft appearance. Unlike a completely transparent surface, the material filters the light and reduces the contrast with the internal light source. The diffuser thus acquires a glossy and sophisticated effect, while the different curves are highlighted through subtle variations in brightness. When the lamp is off, the finish enhances the color and design of the petals. When turned on, the entire volume seems to illuminate from within, creating a warm, welcoming, and uniform atmosphere.
Soft and enveloping light
The light source is placed at the center of the diffuser and interacts with the curved, translucent surfaces. The light passes through the PMMA elements, highlighting their profiles and creating a succession of brighter areas and delicately shaded areas. The open shape at the bottom also allows for a light component directed towards the surface below. The lamp uses a standard E27 bulb, easily replaceable, with a maximum power of 18W.
