The Padiglioni table by Bonaldo, designed by Alain Gilles, is a sculptural piece that transforms the dining area into a visually striking architectural feature. Inspired by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe's iconic Barcelona Pavilion, it stands out for its distinctive asymmetrical base composed of three geometric volumes that generate ever-changing perspectives depending on the vantage point.

Architectural inspiration and formal research
Padiglioni was born from a reflection on the relationship between architecture, space, and perception. The project recalls the formal purity and compositional rigor of the famous pavilion designed by Mies van der Rohe, reinterpreting its principles through a contemporary, material language.
An asymmetrical base in constant motion
The table's distinctive feature is its base, composed of three asymmetrical elements characterized by different shapes and positioned in a seemingly random arrangement. This unique configuration creates a dynamic effect that alters the perception of the object depending on the angle from which it is observed. As you move around the table, the structure continually changes appearance, offering new perspectives and interplays of volume.
A balance between solidity and visual lightness
The sculptural presence of the base is balanced by a tabletop with clean lines, characterized by a sloping edge that visually lightens the overall effect. The contrast between the rigorous geometry of the tabletop and the intricate composition of the legs contributes to a sophisticated and contemporary aesthetic. Padiglioni is available in two material interpretations that enhance its architectural character: entirely in wood, for a warm, natural, and refined presence; and in hand-trowelled clay, for a surface rich in texture and a strong artisanal quality. Perfect for contemporary dining rooms, elegant living rooms, contract spaces, and hospitality spaces, the Padiglioni table becomes the focal point of the room thanks to its strong aesthetic identity.
