The Muecke Table by Knoll, designed by Jonathan Muecke, interprets wood through a minimalist construction in which material, joints, and proportions become an integral part of the design. The cylindrical structural elements meet on different planes, intentionally leaving sections and grain visible, creating a rigorous and highly tactile table.

Design
Jonathan Muecke develops his designs starting from the intrinsic logic of materials. For the Muecke Wood Collection, he chooses wood for its familiarity, warmth, and, above all, the evident presence of its grain. The Muecke Table translates this research into a composition reduced to a few essential elements. The rectangular top is supported by a structure constructed of repeated cylindrical elements, connected according to a precise geometric logic. The apparent simplicity belies a careful study of proportions and connections. Each component remains clearly recognizable and allows us to understand how the table is constructed, without masking the nature of the material.
Structure and Top
The supporting structure is made of solid wood, used for the legs and supporting dowels. The top is composed of a panel with a sliced veneer, coordinated with the frame finish. This solution allows for a large, uniform surface while maintaining color and material continuity with the base. The essential profile of the top highlights the underlying construction and allows the cylindrical elements to define the table's character.
Versatility and Ambience
In the dining room, Muecke becomes the fulcrum of the composition thanks to the material presence of the wood and the clarity of the frame. The oak version dialogues with light stone, natural fabrics, and neutral palettes. Walnut pairs elegantly with marble, leather, and burnished metals, while ebonized ash creates a more decisive statement in contemporary interiors. The 259 cm version is also particularly suitable for meeting rooms, executive offices, and large hospitality spaces, where the generous top allows for a blend of function and prestige.
