Code Sideboard

Design

Designed by the Poliform R&D department, the Code collection serves as a natural extension of the eponymous furnishing system. Its clean lines and great compositional flexibility allow the sideboard to integrate seamlessly into a living space, coordinating with wall paneling, shelving, and other storage units from the same collection. The ability to alternate between closed surfaces, glass-fronted cabinets, and open compartments creates dynamic compositions, where the balance of solid and void spaces can be adjusted to suit both functional requirements and the desired aesthetic effect.

Comfort and Functionality

The interior organization includes shelves and drawers, which can be enhanced with a variety of optional accessories. Cutlery trays, for instance, adapt the sideboard for use in a dining area, while document and pen holders expand its utility for study spaces or home offices. Configurations may feature hinged doors, drop-down doors, glass doors, "Tape" doors, drawers, and open compartments, ensuring that each sideboard can be designed to meet specific storage needs.

Materials and finishes

The wide variety of finishes is one of the distinctive features of the Code collection. The structure, fronts, backsplashes, and tops can combine wood, lacquer, glass, marble, and travertine, creating coordinated configurations or more striking material contrasts. Options also include fabric-upholstered back panels and metallic details, offering further opportunities to personalize the sideboard’s appearance and ensure it integrates harmoniously with other elements of a Poliform interior design project.

Lighting and Versatility

Code sideboards can be enhanced with integrated LED lighting, which is particularly effective in open compartments and glass-fronted configurations. The light accentuates materials, displayed objects, and interior surfaces, transforming the storage unit into a striking, theatrical feature within the living area. The variety of sizes and configurations makes Code suitable for the living room, dining room and study, both as a freestanding element and as part of a more complex composition.
