Introducing the Emile sofa by Molteni&C: modular elegance

Molteni&C anticipates the 2025 collection with the Emile curved sofa, a new product that marks the collaboration with French designer Christophe Delcourt, who brings an additional attention to craftsmanship and enhancement of materials.

Emile is a modular sofa system, designed to adapt to changing contemporary needs and a personalized idea of comfort. Its structure allows for linear, modular, or circular configurations, while the different heights of the backrests and variable depths of the seats create an environment capable of accommodating the most diverse postures and relaxation preferences.

Emile's design communicates a sense of movement through the variable dimensions of the backrest and seat, and the large loose cushions. It stands out for its sculptural forms that never affect the immediate feeling of welcoming comfort and intimacy it conveys.

The Emile sofa by Molteni&C offers various modules that can be combined and connected to compose circular or semicircular seating systems, vis-à-vis and linear configurations. The matching loose cushions complete the style and adapt to guests' preferences. Emile is available with leather or fabric upholstery selected from the brand's collection.

The new sofa is part of a collection that is a tribute to the city of Milan and its layered identity of history and innovation. Creative director Vincent Van Duysen has led research work in the Molteni archives and in the collections from the Seventies and Eighties, whose mood has been updated and adapted to contemporary dynamism. The creative director's vision is represented by an ideal Milanese open-space, reflecting the city's past and Molteni's refined aesthetic.

Christophe Delcourt is a self-taught designer who learned to work with materials and artisanal techniques in a French manufacturing workshop. His design philosophy is based on centrality, as the ability of furniture to take the center of the room and define spaces, through their constant presence in our daily lives.

The Molteni&C 2025 collection marks the beginning of the collaboration with Delcourt: in addition to the Emile sofa, the French designer has created the Eugène armchair and the Lèa, Odile, Maylis, and Fleur side tables.
