The Surf wall lamp by Artemide, designed by Neil Poulton, combines essential geometry with high lighting performance. The thin painted aluminum body shields the LED source and directs the light toward the wall, generating indirect, uniform, and comfortable lighting for residential and professional environments.

Design
Surf is distinguished by a light and continuous shape, similar to a delicately folded surface. The body appears to move away from the wall in a fluid movement, creating a slender volume free of superfluous elements. The light source remains hidden behind the structure, allowing the reflected light to define the lamp's presence. When turned off, Surf appears as a discreet architectural feature; when turned on, it enhances the wall with a large luminous halo. The minimalist design allows the fixture to integrate seamlessly into modern, minimalist, and professional environments.

Surf uses completely indirect emission. The light is projected upward and reflected by the wall, spreading throughout the space without directly exposing the LED source. This configuration limits glare and creates a soft light, suitable for living rooms, bedrooms, hallways, and passageways. The lighting also helps highlight architectural surfaces, accentuating their materials, colors, and proportions.
Efficiency and Light Quality
The integrated 40W LED source achieves a luminous efficacy of over 70 lumens per watt, with performance varying based on the selected color temperature: warm white 3000K, with a luminous flux of 3638 lumens, and neutral white 4000K, with a luminous flux of 3893 lumens. Both versions feature a color rendering index of CRI 90, which allows them to faithfully reproduce the colors of furnishings, upholstery, and surrounding surfaces. The voltage is 220-240V. The 3000K light creates a warmer and more welcoming atmosphere, while the 4000K variant offers a more neutral and functional perception, also suitable for offices and workspaces.
