Stellar Nebula Pendant Lamp

Stellar Nebula is born from the encounter between BIG's experimental vision and Artemide's manufacturing heritage. The project reflects on the relationship between artisanal craftsmanship and industrial production, seeking a balance in which seriality and uniqueness can coexist. The diffuser features a soft, irregular geometry, shaped by the master glassmaker. The shape retains a recognizable structure, but the subtle variations introduced during the glassblowing process make each piece unique. The result is a suspension lamp with a sculptural presence, capable of furnishing a space even when turned off and revealing new nuances when light shines through.

Blown Glass and Craftsmanship

The diffuser is created by glassblowing, a technique that requires experience, precision, and manual sensitivity. During the process, the glass takes on a fluid, organic form. The small variations in volume, thickness, and surface are not imperfections, but rather demonstrate the artisanal nature of the product and make each lamp unique. The transparency of the material highlights the depth of the diffuser and enhances the passage of light, creating a continuous dialogue between the surface, volume, and surrounding environment. After blowing, the glass is enhanced with an innovative PVD treatment. The dichroic finish creates an iridescent gradation that changes its appearance depending on the viewing angle, the ambient light, and whether the lamp is on or off. The surface can take on warm or cooler reflections, generating a dynamic and sophisticated lighting effect. The finish does not hide the natural beauty of the glass, but rather amplifies its ability to interact with light.

Lighting and Atmosphere

The light passes through the diffuser and highlights its three-dimensional shape, creating a soft, enveloping illumination. Variations in the glass and finish produce subtle differences in intensity and color, making the light particularly evocative. The lamp contributes to the room's illumination while also creating a decorative light. Installed above a table, an island, or in the center of a conversation area, Stellar Nebula defines the space with a refined, dramatic light.

Versatility and Ambience

Stellar Nebula is ideal above a dining table, a kitchen island, or a composition of coffee tables. In the living room, it can be used as a focal point, enhancing the conversation area with a sculptural light. The iridescent glass interacts with marble, wood, metal, and stone surfaces, adapting to both neutral palettes and environments characterized by intense colors. The decorative quality of the pendant lamp also makes it suitable for entrances, suites, restaurants, lounges, boutiques, reception areas, and refined hospitality spaces.
