Nessino Table Lamp

Design

Designed by Giancarlo Mattioli and the Città Nuova Urban Architects Group, Nessino retains the expressive identity of the original model, adapting it to smaller proportions. The flared base supports a large diffuser with a soft, curved shape, inspired by the natural world. The profile recalls the silhouette of a mushroom, creating a visually seamless object, in which the structure and dome seem to merge into a single volume.

Light and functionality

The diffuser directs the light towards the surface and diffuses it throughout the room, contributing to a soft and comfortable atmosphere. Nessino uses four retrofit LED light sources with E14 sockets and a maximum power of 6W each, with a voltage of 220-240V. The choice of bulbs allows for customization of the light temperature and intensity based on the environment and the desired effect. Its compact size allows for easy placement on bedside tables, consoles, desks, shelves, and side tables.

Materials and Industrial Production

The lamp is made of painted polycarbonate, a material that allows for a continuous surface and complex geometry through industrial production. The use of plastic is a central element of the project. In the 1960s, this material helped revitalize the domestic landscape, enabling the creation of objects with innovative, accessible, and mass-produced shapes.

Versatility and Ambiance

Nessino can be used as a bedside lamp, a reading light, or a decorative light fixture. In the living room, it enhances coffee tables and sideboards, while in the study, it adds personality to the workspace. The iconic shape blends seamlessly into contemporary interiors, pop-art spaces, and compositions featuring modern furnishings. It can also create an original contrast in classic or minimalist spaces.
