Tacchini’s signature design

Tacchini brings iconic design pieces back to life in its catalog and offers contemporary classics, in a luxurious and eclectic blend. Founded in the late 1960s, Tacchini upholds values such as meticulous attention to detail and material research, respect for people and the environment, quality, and craftsmanship, essential elements that, in the early 2000s, led the company to embark on a new path under the guidance of Giusi Tacchini. With her arrival at the company, Tacchini began collaborating with leading designers and reissuing iconic pieces from the past, establishing itself as one of the world’s most highly regarded luxury brands.

Through this approach, Tacchini brings to life a vision of living in constant balance between elegance and simplicity, respect for tradition and openness to innovation, understatement and boldness.

Tacchini chairs: quality that stands the test of time

Some of Tacchini’s most iconic chairs include reissues of designs by Tobia Scarpa, Pigreco, Africa, Dialogo, Sempronia, and Basilan: the Tacchini Pigreco chair was presented in 1959 as a graduation project, born from the idea of giving a sense of space to a static object, starting from a triangular shape. The Dialogo chair displays joints, screws, and dowels and makes them its defining feature, with a double-trestle structure that makes it a bold piece full of personality. The famous Africa chair by Afra and Tobia Scarpa is a wooden sculpture inspired by cabinetmaking, with its backrest divided into two mirror-image sections and handcrafted from different types of wood. The Tacchini Sempronia chair is characterized by circular elements such as the legs formed by the intersection of two cylinders, a bold design paired with soft upholstery. The Basilan chair, designed in the 1970s by Afra and Tobia Scarpa, consists of a modular rattan frame with metal and leather details and ties, which serves as both structure and decoration.

The Tacchini chairs collection includes many other designs and reissues, such as the Paola chair by Vico Magistretti, with legs whose lines transform as they meet the backrest and seat base, or the Babela chair by Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni, featuring a rigorous industrial aesthetic softened by its upholstery.
