Muecke Lounge Chair

Design

Jonathan Muecke approached the project starting from the intrinsic characteristics of the material. The form is not superimposed on the material, but arises from the way the wood is worked, connected, and repeated within the structure. In the Lounge Chair, this principle generates a rigorous yet welcoming composition. Legs, uprights, and armrests are constructed using clearly recognizable cylindrical elements, while the padded seat and backrest introduce a more relaxed posture than the dining chairs in the same collection.

Comfort and Lounge Position

Compared to the dining chairs in the family, the Lounge Chair introduces a more relaxed posture. The seat and backrest are inclined to naturally accommodate the body and promote a relaxed position. The deep proportions allow for greater freedom of movement, while the wooden armrests define the seat's lateral space. The polyurethane cushions soften the relationship with the structure and introduce a contrast between the rigor of the frame and the softness of the upholstered surfaces.

Versatility and Ambience

In the living room, the Muecke Lounge Chair can be used individually next to a coffee table or arranged in pairs to create a cozy conversation area. Oak complements bright interiors, stone, and natural materials; walnut elegantly pairs with marble and warm finishes, while ebonized ash creates a striking contrast in more contemporary settings. The combination of material construction, lounge proportions, and the possibility of customizing the upholstery makes the chair suitable for suites, lounges, reception areas, executive offices, and refined hospitality spaces.
