Core Bar Cabinet

Design

Core was born from the desire to restore the bar cabinet to a central role in the home. The project does not interpret the container as a purely technical element, but as a hub around which to meet, prepare a drink, and share an informal moment. The shape is low, elongated, and rigorous. The continuous surfaces conceal the transformable nature of the piece, which is revealed only when opened. The upper surface becomes a work surface, while the internal volume houses the objects needed for preparation and service.

Functionality and Conviviality

When closed, Core can be perceived as a low table or a compact sideboard. The upper surface complements the conversation area and can be used as a shelf for books, trays, and decorative objects. When opened, the cabinet reveals its bar function. The top offers the necessary space for preparing and serving drinks, while the internal compartments allow for organizing accessories while keeping them close to the living area. Tacchini thus interprets the home bar as a relational space: not a piece of furniture to be used exclusively for formal occasions, but an everyday presence open to different uses, gestures, and rituals.

Structure and materials

Core's frame and base are made of wood, a material that lends solidity and continuity to the entire volume. The internal surface is made of metal. The metal surface introduces a textural contrast with the exterior and identifies the functional part of the cabinet, visually distinguishing it from the wooden or lacquered surfaces. The combination of wood and metal connects the domestic character of the casing with the greater technical precision of the interior.
