Muecke Ottoman

Design

The Muecke Ottoman stems from the same research Jonathan Muecke uses to approach furniture and sculpture: understanding the material and allowing its construction logic to determine the object's form. The footrest is therefore reduced to a few clearly recognizable elements. The wooden frame defines a simple geometric base, while the padded upper volume introduces softness without obscuring the construction system.

Comfort and Functionality

Paired with the Muecke Lounge Chair, the footrest allows you to stretch out your legs and adopt an even more relaxed posture. Its low height is proportionate to the lounge seat and allows the two elements to function as a single system dedicated to comfort. The padded surface creates a soft contrast with the rigor of the wooden frame, maintaining a balance between formal simplicity and a welcoming feel. The Muecke Ottoman can also be used independently of the armchair, as a pouf or occasional support in the conversation area.

Versatility and Ambience

In the living room, the Muecke Ottoman naturally complements the Lounge Chair, creating a dedicated reading and relaxation area. It can be positioned frontally or slightly off-center for a more informal arrangement. The oak frame is ideal for bright, textured environments; walnut pairs well with marble and warm finishes, while ebonized ash is particularly effective in contemporary interiors characterized by strong contrasts. The compact proportions and the option to customize the wood and upholstery make the footstool also suitable for suites, lounges, executive offices, and refined hospitality environments.
