Lesbo Table Lamp

Design

Lesbo is born from the encounter between a simple organic form and in-depth research into the expressive qualities of glass. The diffuser gradually widens from the base to define a soft, sculptural silhouette, inspired by the shape of a mushroom. The generous proportions and continuous curves give the lamp a powerful presence, capable of defining a space even when turned off. The gradation of color of the glass accompanies the transition from the transparency of the lower part to the white of the dome, highlighting the fluidity of the volume and the artisanal quality of the workmanship.

Lighting and Atmosphere

The shaded upper part shields the light source and directs the emission primarily upward. Light is reflected into the room and diffused through the glass, generating soft, enveloping illumination. The interaction between light and material enhances the different densities of the diffuser: the transparent portions reveal the depth of the glass, while the white portions soften the emission and reduce the direct perception of the bulb. Lesbo is equipped with a dimmer switch, allowing the ambiance to be adjusted according to the room's needs and the time of day. The lamp uses a replaceable Retrofit LED light source with an E27 socket. The current configuration is designed for a bulb up to 21 W and operates on a 220–240 V power supply.

Materials and Workmanship

The diffuser is made of hand-blown glass, while the structural elements are made of aluminum. The artisanal glass processing makes the surface particularly rich and can result in subtle variations that underscore the uniqueness of each piece. The nuanced white not only serves a decorative function, but also actively participates in the control of the light, demonstrating the rigorous relationship between form, material, and function that characterizes the project.

Versatility and ambiance

Lesbo is ideal on a console table, a sideboard, a side table, or a low cabinet, where it can be viewed from various perspectives. Its size and sculptural presence allow it to become the focal point of the composition. In the living room, it creates atmospheric lighting next to the sofa or in the conversation area. In the bedroom, it can enhance a dresser or a large bedside table, while in a study, it adds an iconic and sophisticated touch.
