Elyne "Dining" Chair

Design

Elyne is born from research into the balance between constructive slenderness and softness. A thin, slightly curved line creates an ethereal silhouette upon which more generously padded volumes are grafted. The project thus brings together two seemingly opposing characteristics: the precision of the structure and the sensation of comfort offered by the seat. In the Dining version, this language is condensed into proportions designed to accompany the dining table, maintaining the recognizability of the Elyne family while favoring a more compact and orderly composition.

Two interpretations of the structure

One of the distinctive elements of Elyne Dining is the possibility of choosing between two different structural solutions. The first uses a wood frame, which brings the warmth and natural texture of wood to the seat, while the second uses a steel rod frame. These two interpretations allow Elyne Dining to be adapted to different material and color palettes without altering its design identity.

Comfort and functionality

The armrests are a natural extension of the backrest and contribute to the sense of enveloping comfort. Their profile follows the line of the seat without introducing visual interruptions, allowing the shape to maintain remarkable continuity. The cushion maintains a sense of softness, but without taking on excessively informal volumes. The seat thus appears well integrated into the structure and maintains a precise profile. The padding accompanies the body laterally, while the compact cushion supports the seat, maintaining a posture suited to conviviality and sitting around the table. The slim structure also prevents the chair from appearing visually heavy when multiple elements are arranged next to each other. The result is a balanced seat, capable of combining comfort, proportion, and lightness.

Versatility and Ambience

With its wood frame, Elyne Dining can be paired with wooden tables to create a coordinated, textured composition, or paired with marble and stone surfaces to introduce a more sophisticated contrast. The Black Coffee variant blends naturally with interiors characterized by dark tones, burnished metals, and warm materials, while the chrome frame allows for brighter, more contemporary compositions, especially when paired with glass, marble, and reflective surfaces. The enveloping backrest makes Elyne Dining suitable for both domestic dining rooms and restaurants, lounges, and refined hospitality environments.
