Boalum Lamp

Design

Boalum transcends the traditional lamp shape to become a continuous lighting element. The tubular body traverses the space like a graphic sign, adapting to the composition thanks to its flexibility. The design can be arranged in soft curves, wrapped in a spiral, or developed longitudinally. Each configuration alters the relationship between light, furniture, and architecture, allowing the user to actively play a role in defining the form. Originally produced from 1970 to 1983 and updated in 1999, Boalum was subsequently redesigned by replacing traditional light sources with high-efficiency LEDs, without altering the identity of the original design.

Lighting and Atmosphere

The light is diffused throughout the entire structure, creating a soft, uniform illumination. The 2700K color temperature creates a warm tone, particularly suitable for living rooms, bedrooms, and relaxation areas. The integrated LED system offers a total power of 20W and a luminous flux of 780 lumens. The CRI 90 color rendering index naturally enhances colors, materials, and surfaces in the room. The lamp is intended for indoor use and has an IP20 rating.

Materials and Flexible Structure

Boalum is made of flexible, reinforced translucent PVC, finished with resin terminals. This material protects the internal light sources and allows the lamp body to be freely curved and shaped. The white finish emphasizes the continuity of the structure and allows the warm light to spread along the tube for a uniform, enveloping effect.

Modularity and Configurations

Each element measures up to 200 cm in length and has a diameter of 6 cm. Multiple modules can be connected in series, up to four Boalums, reaching a total length of approximately eight meters. This modularity allows for the creation of larger lighting installations, suitable for walls, floors, large tables, and contract spaces. The elements can be arranged in sequences, interwoven compositions, or free-form shapes, transforming the lamp into a truly spectacular presence.
