Womb Ottoman

Design

The Womb Ottoman shares the design language developed by Eero Saarinen for the Womb Collection: organic shapes, padded volumes, and a slender metal frame that visually lightens the composition. The upper surface features a soft, slightly inclined geometry, designed to naturally accommodate the position of the legs when the footrest is paired with the armchair. The steel base, meanwhile, maintains a precise and essential design, creating the same contrast between softness and geometric rigor that characterizes the Womb Chair.

The Womb Chair complement

The Womb Chair was born from the desire to create a seat capable of accommodating different postures and offering a profound sense of relaxation. The footrest completes this experience, allowing you to stretch out your legs and assume an even more relaxed position. The proportion between the armchair and ottoman is designed so that the two elements function as a single lounge system. The padded surface ideally complements the seat, while the metal frame perfectly echoes the structural language of the armchair.

Comfort and Padding

The comfort of the Womb Ottoman comes from the combination of its contoured structure and generous padding. Knoll specifies a fiberglass-reinforced shell with a plywood platform, covered in foam-core polyester fiber padding. This construction creates a soft yet supportive surface to provide comfortable support for the legs. The slight curvature avoids the rigid effect typical of completely flat footrests and contributes to the visual continuity with the organic forms of the Womb Chair.
