Vetra Pendant Lamp by Marset
The Vetra pendant lamp by Marset, designed by Joan Gaspar, reinterprets the archetype of the classic blown-glass lamp with a surprising lighting solution. Its closed diffuser does not contain the light source, as one might expect, but is used as a true reflector: the LED is placed outside the shade and directs most of the light downward, while part of the emission returns to the inside of the glass, gently illuminating it.

Design
At first glance, Vetra recalls the familiarity of traditional blown-glass pendant lamps. Its rounded profile, continuous surface, and balanced proportions suggest a simple and immediately understandable object. The true innovation, however, emerges in Joan Gaspar's use of the diffuser. The light source is not hidden inside the bell, but positioned beneath it, transforming the glass into a surface capable of collecting and reflecting part of the light.
Opaque blown glass diffuser
Vetra is made with a blown glass diffuser with a matte amber or white finish, combined with a lacquered aluminum heatsink. The glass retains the material quality typical of blown glass, but the matte surface attenuates its transparency and promotes a softer distribution of light. When the lamp is off, the diffuser appears compact and silent. When the LED is turned on, the glass is illuminated from within by reflected light, making its profile more visible.
Versatility and Adaptability
Vetra offers a greater amount of light than its shape would suggest, while maintaining good visual comfort, thanks to its shape and the expert use of glass. Its luminous characteristics are combined with its TRIAC phase-cut dimmability, allowing you to adjust the light intensity to your liking, making it an extremely versatile lamp suitable for any style of space.
