The surface of Tile is punctuated by a regular geometric design, similar to a sequence of tiles. Variations in pile height and texture add depth to the pattern, creating subtle contrasts between light and shadow. The order of the grid is balanced by the natural softness of the fibers, creating a contemporary rug with a restrained character. The result is a decorative presence capable of defining a space without overpowering other furnishings.
Materials and Craftsmanship
Tile is handwoven with a combination of cut pile and loop pile. The surface uses a blend of New Zealand wool, jute, and cotton, selected for its pleasant tactile feel and good durability for everyday use. The jute warp and hand-finished backing contribute to the sturdiness of the structure, while the different yarn treatments accentuate the design's relief.
Comfort and functionality
New Zealand wool lends the rug a warm and comfortable feel, while jute adds texture and material character. The structured weave makes the surface visually dynamic and helps create a cozy atmosphere within the room. Being made from natural fibers, Tile may initially exhibit slight shedding. This is normal and will gradually diminish with use and regular maintenance.
