The Softcase sofa by Minotti, designed by Hannes Peer, was born as an architectural seating system, conceived not simply to furnish the living room, but to define its proportions, layouts, and modes of use. Generous volumes, precise geometries, and a particularly extensive modularity allow for the development of linear, angular, or more complex compositions, tailored to the characteristics of the space.

Details and Measures
Design
Softcase reinterprets the square-lined sofa through a softer, more enveloping language. Hannes Peer retains the geometric clarity typical of modern seating systems, but expands the volumes and softens their rigidity. Deep seats, soft backrests, and more welcoming angles transform the precision of the structure into a relaxed domestic experience. The distinctive element of Softcase is the shell that shapes the back of the sofa. Its profile creates a compact volume within which the backrests are accommodated. A vertical seam runs through the center of the back, becoming a discreet yet recognizable graphic element. The perimeter is further enhanced by double stitching, which highlights the precision of the craftsmanship and makes the back particularly refined.
A centerpiece
The quality of the back, the contoured shell, and the perimeter structure make Softcase particularly suitable for placement in the center of a room. In an open space, it can visually separate the living and dining areas without creating an architectural barrier, while the Inclined configurations allow the seats to be oriented toward multiple focal points. The sofa is therefore not conceived as an element necessarily leaning against a wall, but as an independent structure capable of organizing the surrounding space.
Comfort and functionality
Softcase combines a formally precise structure with decidedly soft comfort. The larger volumes, the soft-looking backrests, the continuous armrests, and the single-piece seats create a feeling of profound welcome. The variety of modules also allows for different ways of using it: a more composed seat for conversation, chaise longues dedicated to relaxation, or large, deep configurations intended for more informal use.
Versatility and Ambience
In a contemporary living room, Softcase can be configured as a linear sofa to create a clean, orderly composition. In larger open spaces, the Inclined and Inclined Deep corner elements allow for the creation of articulated systems that extend freely throughout the space, creating multiple seating directions. The precision of the shell and metal base allows the sofa to blend seamlessly with minimalist architecture, while the softness of the volumes allows it to fit into more classic and textured settings.
