A name that expresses the project's concept
The name Rumee captures the very meaning of the lamp. It comes from the Danish word "rum," meaning space or room, and the English word "me," also evoking the sound of "roomie," the informal term for a roommate. This combination evokes the idea of a familiar presence accompanying everyday moments, bringing with it a feeling of warmth and well-being.
Organic and emotional design
In Gabriel Tan's work, natural forms and asymmetry become tools for creating an emotional connection with the object. Rumee stands out for its soft, organic lines, which soften the lamp's technical function and give it a welcoming and human character.
Freedom and comfort everywhere
Thanks to its rechargeable and portable nature, Rumee can be easily moved from room to room, accompanying different moments of the day. Whether reading a book, sharing a conversation, or creating a relaxing atmosphere, the lamp offers pleasant, always-on light.
A companion for everyday life
Rumee is designed to be more than just a light source: it is an object that helps create moments of conviviality, relaxation, and sharing, both inside the home and on the go. Perfect for living rooms, bedrooms, children's rooms, studies, covered terraces, and hospitality spaces, Rumee adapts naturally to any context thanks to its warm and versatile design.
