Maxalto was founded in 1975 to create high-quality wooden furniture. Under the direction of Afra and Tobia Scarpa, wood was transformed into iconic pieces that highlight the central role of wood in traditional Nordic furniture. With Antonio Citterio’s creative direction, the focus shifted to research in modern furniture, always marked by attention to detail and craftsmanship.

Today, Maxalto maintains its classic modernism and core values, such as construction and material quality, stylistic coherence, and formal harmony. At the same time, the brand keeps up with the evolution of living spaces with a renewed approach to interior design.

Maxalto Tables: Conviviality and Prestige in the Living Area

Maxalto tables are statement pieces that enhance the room through a selection of luxury materials and finishes. For wooden tables, options include classic oak or ash as well as premium walnut, rosewood, and eucalyptus. Tops can also be made in glass or marble, including Carrara, Calacatta, Marquinia, Emperador brown, and many other options, depending on the color accent for the dining area.

The Maxalto table collection offers extensive customization options in shape and finish, allowing full personalization to match the layout of the space and the lifestyle of the household.

The Maxalto Tables Selected by Ciat Design

We have selected some of the tables that best represent Maxalto’s contemporary and classic style and the range of premium materials used by the brand. Among these, the Pathos 50 limited edition table revisits a 2011 design by Antonio Citterio, featuring laser-cut bronze details and solid national walnut with raw edges, celebrating Maxalto’s 50th anniversary. The Astrum table is available in both a rectangular version with a central marble insert and a round version, each featuring a trestle-style base in die-cast aluminum.

The Recipio ’14 rectangular dining table reinterprets the traditional refectory table form, with a slatted top and a base crossbar finished with a steel profile for both formal and protective purposes. The Abseo table is a distinctive piece with clean lines, contrasting with the wide, asymmetrical legs: a bold design statement that defines the space.
