Bohemia Pendant Lamp

Design

Bohemia interprets the large-scale pendant lamp through a soft, continuous, and immediately recognizable form. The profile alternates concave and convex surfaces, creating the impression of two different volumes fused into a single silhouette. The upper part narrows towards the suspension point, while the lower part expands to a diameter of 84 cm. This geometry gives the lamp a sculptural character without making it visually heavy. The translucency of the material lightens the volume and allows light to directly contribute to the definition of the form.

A shape that resembles blown glass

One of Bohemia's most distinctive features is polycarbonate's ability to evoke the depth and luminosity of glass. The lampshade is made of translucent, double-layered rotomolded polycarbonate, with a colored outer surface and a white interior. The LED version features an opal methacrylate diffuser. The two-layer construction allows for the separation of the color and light functions. The color defines the lamp's exterior, while the white interior reflects the light without altering its hue. The material thus acquires an independent design value: it is not simply used as a substitute for glass, but becomes the tool through which Bohemia's distinctive geometry can be achieved.

Light and shadow define volume

When Bohemia is turned on, a significant portion of the light is directed downward. The white interior of the lampshade allows for a color-neutral emission even in versions featuring intense colors. The surface below is therefore illuminated with white light, while the exterior of the lamp retains its own hue. This feature makes Bohemia particularly suitable for dining tables, large meeting tables, and conversation areas, where the quality of light must coexist with a significant decorative presence.

Dimmable LED light source

Bohemia uses a 22.4W, 2700K dimmable LED light source with two dimming modes: TRIAC phase-cut and DALI-2. Dimming allows for a range from a more intense illumination, suitable for dining and socializing, to a softer light where the lampshade becomes an atmospheric presence. The Green and Amber versions introduce a striking contrast between the colored exterior and the white interior. The Smoked finish, on the other hand, produces a more subtle, monochromatic effect. The color contrast is reduced, drawing attention to the lamp's curves and proportions.
