Apparatus is an innovative studio co-founded in 2012 by Gabriel Hendifar and Jeremy Anderson, located in the heart of New York City. The interdisciplinary design brand is distinguished by its exploration of the synergy between lighting, furniture and objects, creating environments that tell unique stories. Inspired by the modernist principle of Gesamtkunstwerk, or total work of art, Apparatus offers masterfully articulated collections in which each piece presents itself not only as a functional object, but as an artifact that contributes to a holistic world. Each creation reflects the historical and cultural mood, the fruit of a singular and coherent vision. The brand is characterized by the use of sensual and refined materials, such as marble, suede, horsehair, lacquer and porcelain, combined with hand-patinated brass. Each piece is made in the studio's dedicated New York factory, thus contributing to a distinctive catalog that captures the essence of creativity and high-quality craftsmanship.
