Design

Sintesi was the first Artemide lamp designed directly by founder Ernesto Gismondi. The project was born as the core of a larger system, constructed from essential, shared components capable of generating different lighting configurations. The table version represents the starting point for the entire family. The form is direct, legible, and devoid of purely decorative elements: each component contributes to the structure, regulation, or control of the light. The orientation system is defined by two C-shaped curved metal profiles of different lengths. When overlapped, the two elements form a Y-shaped support that allows the height and tilt of the lamp to be adjusted. Movement occurs through a simple opening and closing of the structure. No complex mechanisms or visually invasive joints are necessary: ​​the very geometry of the support determines its position, balance, and orientation.

Light and functionality

The light source is housed within a metal frame that supports it and allows for its orientation. The frame integrates a reflector, designed to control and direct the light emission, and a protective grille that completes the lamp's technical character. The light can thus be directed toward the work surface, making Sintesi suitable for reading, writing, and desk tasks. The E27 lamp holder with 220-240V voltage allows for the use of a replaceable light source and the choice of bulb based on the desired color temperature and intensity. This solution ensures adaptability and ease of updating over time. Sintesi is composed of a few curved metal elements assembled according to a simple construction logic. The reduction in the number of components simplifies the structure, facilitates adjustment, and makes the lamp's operation immediately clear. The reflector, grille, frame, and support are not hidden, but become an integral part of the project's aesthetic identity.

Compactness and Versatility

The structure can be folded to an almost completely flat configuration, demonstrating how functionality, production, and logistics can be addressed through a single, coherent design solution, making it an ideal lamp for desks, work tables, and reading stations. The adjustable height and tilt allow the light to be adapted to the needs of both home offices and professional studios. Its technical and essential style complements contemporary, industrial, and minimalist environments, but can also create an interesting contrast within more classic spaces. Sintesi is also suitable for offices, libraries, hotel rooms, and refined contract settings.
