Design

Plauto looks to tradition to forge a contemporary language. The project stems from the concept of a monolithic structure, interpreting the table as a cohesive whole in which the top and legs engage in a dialogue through continuous forms and substantial proportions. A defining feature is the set of leaf-shaped legs, sculpted with a curved, tapered profile. Their geometry lends visual lightness to the structure, creating the impression that the contoured tabletop is floating above the base. The result is a sculptural yet balanced table, where wood takes center stage without the need for any additional decorative elements.

Materials and Finishes

The legs are available in various wood species; they can either match the tabletop in the same wood finish or be crafted from different materials. Options for the tabletop include several porcelain stoneware varieties: Calacatta Black, Calacatta Supreme 3D, Ceppo di Gré, Emperador, Infinity Anthracite 3D, and Travertino Navona 3D. For an even more tactile, material-focused configuration, the tabletop is also available in Palladio Doge or Palladio Moro marble.

Craftsmanship and Woodworking

Plauto serves as a true tribute to the art of woodworking. The table’s various sections showcase the material in flat, curved, and pointed configurations, underscoring the power of craftsmanship to transform a natural timber into a complex architectural form. The precise shaping of the tabletop and legs softens the monumental proportions, while maintaining a sophisticated, contemporary aesthetic.

Versatility and Adaptability

Available in three sizes, Plauto is suited for a range of settings—from spacious residential dining areas to meeting rooms, professional offices, and hospitality spaces. The 200 cm version is ideal for more intimate environments, while the 240 cm and 300 cm configurations highlight the design’s monumental character, making them perfect for larger, more expansive social or dining areas. Furthermore, the choice of materials—wood, stoneware, or marble—allows for a tailored look, ranging from warm, natural tones to more architectural and sophisticated interpretations.
