Made by the designer George Nelson in 1955, the Coconut Chair armchair reminds the shape of a shell: Nelson compared it with a coconut cut into eight parts, with inverted colours. The chair is characterized by a white shell, in glass fibre reinforced plastic, and a cushion upholstered in leather or fabric in various colours. The tubular steel base is equipped with glides for carpets or hard floors.
