Butter Armchair

Design

Butter Armchair echoes the organic language developed by Faye Toogood for the Butter collection. The shape arises from the observation and manipulation of an everyday material: a soft block of butter shaped by hand becomes the inspiration for padded, full, and slightly irregular volumes. The armchair presents a compact and generous body, defined by rounded surfaces and a continuous profile. The lines do not follow a rigid geometry, but seem to adapt naturally to the pressure and movements of the user.

Free and natural comfort

Butter does not impose a formal position. Its geometry is designed to follow the body and allow for relaxed use, encouraging different postures during reading, conversation, or relaxation. The wide seat features a generous back cushion that envelops the entire structure and extends along the upper edges. This element creates soft, continuous support, blurring the traditional separation between the backrest and armrests. The result is empathetic comfort: the armchair does not attempt to correct the body, but rather spontaneously accompanies its movements. The depth of the seat and the seat contribute to a welcoming position, suitable for both relaxed and more informal use.

Structure and Padding

The internal structure is made with a wooden frame, designed to support the generous volume of the armchair and retain its shape over time. The padding uses polyurethane foam with varying densities. The combination of different consistencies provides support in the structural parts and greater softness in the surfaces in contact with the body. The cushion incorporates hypoallergenic fiber, contributing to the soft and welcoming feel of the seat, all of which are completely removable.

Versatility and Setting

In the living room, Butter can be placed next to a sofa or used as a prominent seat in a conversation area. The refined shape on all sides allows it to be enhanced even in the center of a room. Paired with a low table, it creates a corner dedicated to reading and relaxation. Two armchairs placed face to face can create a cozy and informal conversation space. Neutral tones highlight the softness and shadows of the surface, while intense colors transform Butter into a sculptural element capable of characterizing the entire room.
