The project stems from a pursuit of synthesis and lightness. The continuous profile of the frame follows the seat in a fluid, slender curve, highlighting the essence of the black elm wood while creating an elegant contrast with the soft volume of the upholstery. Jean-Marie Massaud’s take on the traditional African chair strips away all superfluous elements; the frame, the seat, and the materials work together to define a chaise longue with a presence that is both understated and highly distinctive.
Comfort and Functionality
The seat is crafted from flexible, multi-density polyurethane, with an inner cover made of cotton canvas and polyester fiber. This construction ensures comfortable support while maintaining the soft, relaxed profile that defines Attimo. The outer cover is removable and available in a choice of fabric or leather. In the aniline leather version, the material’s natural grain and surface variations emphasize its authentic, tactile quality, lending each piece a richer visual appeal.
Versatility and Adaptability
With a depth of 160 cm, Attimo offers a comfortable, reclined position without the visual bulk of a traditional upholstered chaise longue. Its curved frame and lightweight profile make it well-suited for contemporary living rooms, reading nooks, bedrooms, and any space dedicated to relaxation.
